Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and optimization algorithms have empowered researchers to effectively tackle these challenges across diverse engineering domains. As global challenges intensify, the integration of advanced computing, calculative intelligence, and mathematical frameworks has become essential for promoting sustainability across multiple sectors.

This special issue seeks to explore the transformative potential of applied mathematics in advanced modeling and computing to address pressing sustainability issues related to the environment, society, finance, economy, healthcare, education, energy, transportation, administration, and manufacturing. Lie symmetry analysis, pioneered by mathematician Sophus Lie, employs symmetry groups to investigate and solve differential equations. This method involves studying symmetry groups, infinitesimal generators, Lie algebras, and the reduction of order to find exact solutions and classify equations.

Conservation laws in differential equations focus on maintaining constant quantities as systems evolve. These laws are pivotal in science and engineering, encompassing the conservation of energy, momentum, mass, charge, angular momentum, and probability. Energy conservation ensures the total energy remains constant in isolated systems; momentum conservation maintains total momentum; mass conservation preserves total mass; charge conservation upholds total electric charge; angular momentum conservation keeps total angular momentum unchanged; and probability conservation guarantees the total probability density remains consistent in stochastic systems. These principles are essential for developing accurate models of natural and engineered phenomena.

This special issue aims to explore the intersection of Lie symmetry analysis and differential equation solutions. This mathematical approach has significant applications across physics and engineering, facilitating the solution process and enhancing our understanding of complex systems. Relevant fields include mechatronic engineering, oceanography, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and pharmaceuticals.

In many real-world phenomena, including fluid dynamics, optics, acoustics, plasma physics, engineering, and many other fields of nonlinear research, nonlinear differential equations are crucial. Therefore, it is essential to solve these equations in order to comprehend and interpret the structure that they represent.

Nonetheless, a range of analytical and numerical methods have been created by academics that can be used to solve nonlinear differential equations. The Lie symmetry method, the inverse scattering transformation approach, Ansatz methods, Multistep methods, finite difference/element/volume methods, and several additional methods described in the literature are a few of the well-known techniques.

News: Special Issue: Dynamic Behaviors and Assessments of Nanofluid Flows with Bioconvection

Special Issue Description

A nanofluid is a fluid containing nanometer-sized particles, called nanoparticles. These fluids are engineered colloidal suspensions of nanoparticles in a base fluid. The nanoparticles used in nanofluids are typically made of metals, oxides, carbides, or carbon nanotubes. Bioconvection is widely used on account of its applications in the modeling of oil, gas-bearing sedimentary basin, microbial enhanced oil recovery and bio-mechanics. The motile microorganisms are generally heavier than water and they swim upward as stimuli like light and chemical reactions take place which raise the unstable density stratification and hydrodynamic instability. With progress in nanofluids, researchers related to biomechanics have made the idea of combining motile microorganisms with nanofluids which improved thermal progress, green energy with stable properties and made the foundation of the bio-fuels.

This special issue will aim to collect recent advances in Mathematics, Applied Physics & Biomecanics with research areas from nanofluid flows with bioconvection.

Special Issue: Current Progressions of Fixed Points and Fractals with Mathematical Applications

Many mathematical problems, originating from various branches of science, can be equivalently formulated as fixed point problem, meaning that one has to find a fixed point of some function. Fixed point theorems give sufficient conditions under which there exists a fixed point for a given function and allow us to guarantee the existence of a solution to the original problem. However, many necessary or sufficient conditions for the existence of such points involve a mixture of algebraic, order theoretic, or topological properties of the mapping or its domain. Over the last 50 years or so the theory of fixed points has been exposed as a very powerful and important tool in the study of nonlinear phenomena. Because of the wide range of applications, fixed point theorems are of great interest in diverse fields as biology, chemistry, economics, engineering, physics and many mathematical disciplines like ordinary and partial differential equations, integral equations, system of linear equations, control theory, game theory, category theory, functional equations, well-posedness, approximation theory, theory of critical points etc.

Special Issue Description

This special issue, entitled "Recent Developments in Nonlinear Dynamics, Solitary Theory and Applications," is dedicated to the exploration of novel mathematical methodologies pertaining to the analysis of emerging phenomena in the domains of nonlinear dynamics and solitary waves. Fractals are fascinating self-similar patterns commonly seen in natural phenomena and can also effortlessly be visualized across many other mathematical domains. Self-similarity and irregularity serve as bridging paradigms between fractal analysis and other disciplines. In addition to their striking beauty, which effectively reveal the complex and hidden dynamics behind the nonlinear systems and mathematical models. Fractal analysis is especially useful for exploring the future behavior of complex systems as they provide fundamental knowledge about the uncertainty and indeterminism of the systems. Literature has acknowledged numerous studies of scaling and non-integer fractal dimension with mathematical models resulting in appearance of fractals and chaotic behaviors.

Appreciating the afore-discussion on fractals and its connect with mathematical modelling and nonlinear systems, this special issue aims to acquaint readers the recent intriguing developments of fractals in mathematical modelling and nonlinear systems. In this connection, it intends to invite emerging researchers to submit original research articles which deals the theory as well as the practical applications under the topic on “Contemporary Developments of Fractals in Mathematical Modelling and Nonlinear Dynamical Systems”. The practise of using mathematical concepts and equations in the actual world to solve analytical issues in the areas of technology, healthcare, science, and business is known as applied mathematics. To effectively forecast trends and what could happen in the future, the field mostly uses pattern and analytic recognition. A specialist in applied mathematics must be familiar with computing methods and algorithmic applications. Researchers in this area frequently expertise in engineering, statistics, and data analytics. It's interesting to note that use of mathematical and statistical analysis is necessary in applied mathematics.

The study and investigation of abstract mathematical theories and notions is a part of pure mathematics. Although hypothesis formulation and research are supported by pure mathematics, the idea of pure mathematics is supportive of creativity and application in applied mathematics.

Contemporary Mathematics (ISSN: 2705-1056 ) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes significant, original and relevant works in all fields of mathematics and the mathematical sciences. A broad spectrum of topics are covered like: mathematical theory, pure mathematics, algebra, geometry and topology, complex analysis, differential equations, industrial mathematics, computational mathematics and discrete mathematics.

You are invited to submit papers for Volume 2 Issue 1 of the journal. The papers should normally present results of original work. Critical reviews of important fields are also published.
