With the development of railway vehicles, the problem of vehicle rust has become a key factor threatening operational safety and economic benefits. However, traditional rust removal techniques, such as manual rust removal, chemical rust removal, and sandblasting, have issues such as low efficiency, environmental pollution, and resource waste. Therefore, this paper proposes the use of water jet sandblasting for rust removal and conducts a systematic study on its application in railway vehicle rust removal. Based on the jet impact effect and the micro-cutting action of abrasive materials, experimental research was carried out, and the influences of jet pressure, nozzle traverse speed, incident angle, and target distance on the micro-morphology were analyzed. To further optimize the process parameters, numerical simulation methods were used to simulate and analyze the flow field characteristics of the mixed jet. By constructing a gas-liquid-solid multiphase flow model, the influences of jet pressure, nozzle traverse speed, incident angle, and target distance on the jet velocity field, pressure field, and abrasive particle trajectories were studied.
