A theoretical stability analysis of non-equilibrium chemical engineering systems is presented. A unified approach is proposed for constructing mathematical models of the systems that allows for determining the velocities at which the systems approach thermodynamic equilibrium, and their use in analyzing system velocity stability. For this purpose, mathematical stability theory, autonomous evolution equations, bifurcation theory (including stable foci and cycles), and eigenvalue-eigenfunction analysis are used.
