Special Issue: Frontiers in Nanophotonics: Physics, Devices, and Applications

Nanophotonics has emerged as a central platform for controlling light at subwavelength scales and translating fundamental optical physics into compact devices for sensing, communications, computing, and quantum technologies. Despite significant progress in the field, key scientific and technological challenges remain in understanding and engineering light–matter interactions beyond the diffraction limit, achieving efficient and low-loss optical modulation and frequency conversion, integrating heterogeneous nanoscale structures on scalable photonic platforms, and bridging novel physical mechanisms with robust device-level performance.

This Special Issue aims to provide a timely platform for presenting recent advances and emerging directions in this rapidly evolving field. We welcome original research articles and review papers addressing both fundamental and applied aspects of nanophotonics.
