Special Issue: Fuzzy and Algebraic Methods for the Modelling and Analysis of Complex Systems

2025-06-20

Overview

This Special Issue aims to bring together recent developments in the modelling, analysis, and interpretation of complex systems using fuzzy and algebraic methods. Complex systems—ranging from biology and engineering to communication, decision-making, and socio-economic domains—often involve uncertainty, high interconnectivity, and nonlinear behaviour that challenge traditional modelling frameworks. We welcome contributions that use fuzzy logic, algebraic structures, or both, to address such challenges. In particular, we encourage submissions that incorporate graph-theoretic approaches, including fuzzy graphs, algebraic graph models, and graph-based representations of structural and dynamic systems. Both theoretical advancements and practical applications are within the scope of this Special Issue.

Scope of the Special Issue

We welcome submissions in (but not limited to) the following areas:

Fuzzy logic systems for uncertainty modelling

Algebraic structures in system modelling

Fuzzy inference and control in complex systems

Hyperstructures and hyperoperations in fuzzy or complex environments

Fuzzy and algebraic methods in biological and epidemiological models

Algebraic reasoning in rule-based and intelligent systems

Fuzzy graphs, algebraic graph theory, and graph-based modelling of complex networks

Applications of graph-theoretic methods in transportation, trust networks, communication systems, and social structures
