This article introduces an antenna design for smartwatch applications, with an overall size of 45 × 45 × 5.4 mm3. All antenna elements adopt the Inverted-F antenna (IFA) structure. The operating bands include the Global Positioning System (GPS), Wi-Fi 6E/7 covering the 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, 5.8 GHz and 6 GHz bands, 4G LTE bands B2 and B4, and 5G FR1 bands n41, n77, n78, and n79, thereby covering all Wi-Fi 6E/7 bands and the major 5G FR1 bands. Additionally, this design reserves a frequency band in the 6G mid-to-high band (6–9 GHz), ensuring compatibility with next-generation wireless systems. Furthermore, the antenna element for the B2 and B4 bands incorporates a switching mechanism to reduce the occupied space. The proposed design, which comprises five antennas and exhibits good performance, is suitable for 4G, 5G FR1, and Wi-Fi 6E/7 systems in smartwatch applications.
